Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of GritLabs.ai ("the Service"), operated by dbaBrain Inc. ("we", "us", or "the Company"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of GritLabs.ai, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

2. Account Terms

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.

  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without prior notice.

3. Acceptable Use

GritLabs.ai provides temporary cloud infrastructure for educational purposes. Lab environments are ephemeral - they are provisioned on demand and destroyed after your session ends. You agree to the following usage policies:

  • No data storage on lab VMs. Lab virtual machines are temporary learning environments. Do not store personal, sensitive, or production data on lab infrastructure. All data is deleted when your session ends.
  • No cryptocurrency mining. Using lab infrastructure for cryptocurrency mining, blockchain operations, or any form of computational resource exploitation is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
  • No malicious activity. You may not use lab infrastructure to attack, scan, or exploit other systems. Labs are isolated for your learning - keep it that way.
  • No resource abuse. Do not attempt to bypass session time limits, provision resources beyond your plan, or use automated tools to consume lab infrastructure.
  • Educational use only. Lab environments are for learning and skill development. Do not use them to run production workloads, host applications, or provide services to third parties.

4. Billing and Payments

GritLabs.ai offers both free and paid subscription plans. Our free tier provides limited lab hours and features at no cost. Paid plans unlock additional lab hours, concurrent sessions, and advanced features.

  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us if you believe you were charged in error.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to active subscribers.
  • Unused lab hours do not roll over between billing periods.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, lab templates, AI tutor logic, and documentation, is owned by dbaBrain Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws.

  • You retain ownership of any original content you create during lab sessions (scripts, configurations, notes).
  • Lab templates published to the GritLabs Marketplace are subject to the Marketplace Creator Agreement.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our lab templates or platform code without written permission.
  • Feedback, suggestions, and feature requests you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, dbaBrain Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service.
  • Any data loss on temporary lab infrastructure (labs are ephemeral by design).
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein.
  • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI tutor responses. The AI tutor is an educational tool and its guidance should be verified independently.

Our total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. All active lab sessions will be terminated and infrastructure will be destroyed. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

You may delete your account at any time through the account settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

For material changes that affect your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
